COVID-19 Coverage for Canadian Travellers

COVID-19 coverage is included with TuGo’s Emergency Medical Insurance. The COVID-19 benefit is only applicable if you follow your provincial health authority’s vaccination protocols and:

Have been partially vaccinated, at least 14 days before departure, and
Have received or scheduled any subsequent doses before departure if made available to you
Coverage is still available if you aren't eligible for a vaccine due to age

If you’re travelling within Canada, the COVID-19 benefit is applicable for travel regardless of vaccination status.

Emergency Medical Insurance saves a cross-border traveller a bundle

Bryan was skateboarding in San Francisco when he fell into traffic and hit his head on the pavement. Bystanders quickly called an ambulance and Bryan was taken to a medical centre.

A CT scan showed a subdural hematoma and x-rays revealed a fractured wrist. A doctor worried about a brain bleed, admitted Bryan to the hospital. He was kept in the hospital for 2 days and given repeat CT scans and a splint.

As Bryan remained stable with no signs of any internal bleeding, he was sent home with pain medications and instructions to follow up with his family doctor once he returned to Canada.
